Once the school year begins the Yale School of Music goes into overdrive.
With two symphony orchestras, an opera company, a chamber music series, lunchtime concerts, a piano series, a jazz series and graduate recitals, there is much to hear. The Yale music scene is a busy one. And that makes New Haven a happy place.
Juxtaposed nicely between the Yale Music School and the Yale Divinity School, you will find the The Yale Institute of Sacred Music, and you will find an ambitious schedule of musical offerings that begin on September 29th, with a Yale Schola Cantorum concert at Christ Church in New Haven.
The Schola Cantorum, and the Yale Camerata are the two principal performance groups at ISM, and they also offer a guest series highlighting artists from around the world. Their schedule also includes a guest lecture series, so they have you covered; soul AND mind. Bear in mind that often the ISM concerts don’t always make it to the Yale Music schedule, but that what I am here for. I will keep you posted.
